Sales Focus Review: Is This Agency Worth Hiring?

Sales Focus Review: Is This Agency Worth Hiring?

Summarize with

Sales Focus Inc guarantees to launch your new sales team in 45 days or less. Their homepage reports $1.2B in gross revenue generated for clients across 28 years.

Search for Sales Focus Inc reviews and you hit a strange gap. There are hundreds of posts from people who worked there, and almost nothing from people who hired them.

I ran into that gap immediately. So this Sales Focus Inc review covers their site, nine case studies, Clutch, BBB filings and a state business register.

Sales Focus is a US-only sales outsourcing firm in North Charleston, South Carolina. They recruit, train and manage dedicated sales teams, inside and in the field, as their own W-2 employees.

Their about page says founder Tony Horwath started the company in 1998 and trademarked the S.O.L.D. methodology it still runs on.

Here is what holds up, what does not, and what to get in writing first.

Sales Focus Inc Customer Reviews: What Real Users Are Saying

The client review record is thin. Clutch shows two reviews and a 4.3 overall rating: Quality 4.5, Schedule 4.5, Cost 4.0, Willing to Refer 4.3.

Both were posted on 21 December 2022 as survey responses. G2 is claimed but empty, Trustpilot holds two, and I found no substantive Reddit discussion.

The employee record is the opposite. Glassdoor sits around 2.8 to 2.9 out of 5 across roughly 130 reviews, and Indeed carries 81. That matters more here than elsewhere: the product Sales Focus sells is the people it hires.

What Customers Like

  • Speed is the recurring theme. Sprint's General Manager says in a site testimonial that a team launched within 30 days.
  • A New Orleans bank's financial administrator rated Quality 4.0 and Schedule 4.0 on Clutch and reports improved customer retention.
  • A Los Angeles property management reviewer scored all four Clutch categories 5.0, and TXU Energy's marketing director credits their go-to-market plan for a new-geography launch.

What Customers Don't Like

  • Cost is the weakest Clutch dimension at 4.0, and the bank reviewer scored it 3.0.
  • AgileBlue's business development director, in a testimonial Sales Focus publishes itself, notes difficulty booking meetings with the right individuals and says they moved the work in-house.
  • The BBB file shows one complaint in three years, filed August 2023: the client reports paying $32,400 and getting no leads in a year, with repeated rep turnover. Sales Focus disputed the account, and both parties agreed that month to continue the contract.

Clutch's aggregate scores and the lower-rated of the two reviews.

One caution on the negative material. The three one-star Sitejabber posts and most Glassdoor criticism come from people who worked there, not clients. Read them as turnover signals, and ask how many reps have rotated through comparable programs recently.

Our Verdict on Sales Focus Inc

Hire Sales Focus Inc if you need a dedicated US field or inside sales team managed for you, and can fund a $3,950 three-month pilot.

Two things support this verdict. The legitimacy checks are clean: South Carolina's register lists SALES FOCUS, INC. in Good Standing, and the BBB has accredited them since January 2016 with an A+ rating.

The case-study numbers are also countable rather than vague, including a contracted headcount of 81 and over 1,900 new customers for one energy client.

One thing holds it back:

  • Their own BBB response states plainly that their contract establishes KPIs but does not guarantee goals. The 45-day guarantee covers launch speed, not results.
  • The commission on the Standard and Premium packages is never published.
  • Two Clutch reviews, both nearly four years old, is a thin evidence base for a 28-year-old firm.
  • Nothing states who owns the sending domains, mailboxes or lists when the contract ends.

Get the guarantee terms, commission rate and exit terms in writing before signing. If those answers come back vague, compare other certified agencies instead.

How I Evaluated Sales Focus Inc

I have not been a Sales Focus Inc client, so this review is research-based.

I read their homepage, services, about, packages and contact pages, plus nine case studies. I searched Clutch, G2 and Trustpilot, and pulled the BBB profile with its full complaint file. I checked Glassdoor, Indeed, RepVue and Sitejabber, then looked the company up in South Carolina's business register.

Two limits worth naming. Maryland's register and Glassdoor both blocked automated access, so the home-state filing is unverified here and the Glassdoor figures come from cached summaries.

I judged four things: infrastructure and data ownership, how a qualified lead is defined, what the contract commits to, and whether the numbers hold up. Everything below marked "reports" or "says" comes from their own published material.

Sales Focus Inc Services Reviewed

Sales Focus sells one core outcome: a dedicated sales team you do not have to hire, train or manage yourself.

The headline figures Sales Focus publishes on its homepage. All are company-reported.

Outsourced Inside Sales and SDR Teams

This is their volume business. Their site says agents are recruited, trained and managed by Sales Focus, work one client account only, and sit as W-2 employees who pass background and drug screening. Their inside sales centre is in North Charleston, where their Clutch profile lists 50 to 75 people.

Outside and Field Sales

Field sales holds their largest published programs and is uncommon among B2B lead generation agencies. Their energy case study describes teams placed across Illinois, Ohio, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

If your motion needs people physically visiting businesses, this is their deepest track record.

Lead Generation, Appointment Setting and Digital Marketing

Their case studies describe campaigns combining calls, email, chat, webinars, social media and networking events. Cold calling is the anchor channel, with cold email and LinkedIn outreach layered on top.

They also sell sales management, recruitment and digital marketing. Their FAQ says data goes into your CRM rather than theirs, a good answer to a question most agencies dodge.

Every Sales Focus cell comes from their public material, and every expert cell from live profiles I read this session. Confirm the details on your discovery calls.

How Sales Focus Inc's Process Works

Sales Focus runs everything through S.O.L.D., their trademarked four-stage method: Study, Organize, Launch, Direct. Here is how that maps onto the six stages you will actually experience.

Discovery and ICP Definition

Their methodology page lists a discovery and kickoff session, a review of your sales operation, and agreement on KPIs and revenue targets. Their credit and collections case study says the client picked target industries, locations and contacts, which Sales Focus used to set the ideal customer profile.

Ask them to write the KPI targets into the contract. Their own BBB response draws a hard line between KPIs and guaranteed goals, so see which one you are buying.

Prospect List Creation

Their case studies describe client-approved lists built from buyer personas the client supplies. In the credit and collections campaign, targets were finance directors, controllers, credit managers and accounts receivable managers.

Ask to see a sample list before launch. Fifty rows will tell you more than any sales call.

Copy and Campaign Approval

Their site describes toolkit development and a sales plan built during the Organize stage, with training materials produced before launch. They do not publish who signs off on final messaging.

Ask whether you get approval rights on sequences and scripts, and whether that is a contract term or a courtesy. Also ask how they handle cold email personalization at volume.

Campaign Launch

This is the stage their brand rests on: they guarantee to launch any size team, anywhere in the United States, in 45 days or less. Recruiting and training happen inside that window.

One thing to press on. Sales Focus publishes nothing about sending domains, mailbox setup or email warm-up, and a 45-day launch is faster than a properly warmed mailbox usually allows. Ask what the email side of your program sends from on day one.

Reply Handling and Meeting Booking

Their packages split this three ways. Starter builds the funnel, Standard nurtures leads until a deal is signed, and Premium adds account management after the close.

Ask which package covers the person who answers an interested prospect. On Starter, that is you.

Reporting and Optimization

Their Direct stage covers monitoring, campaign optimisation and client reporting. Their program manager job postings describe weekly calls covering achievements and obstacles.

Ask for a sample weekly report from a live account, client name removed. A real one tells you whether you get numbers or narrative.

Sales Focus Inc Pricing and Contract Terms

Sales Focus publishes its lead generation and inside sales pricing, which is rare in this category and worth crediting.

Their packages page lists Starter at $3,950 per month on a three-month pilot. Standard runs $5,950 and Premium $6,750 per month plus commission, both on four-month pilots. All three move to month-to-month afterwards.

Two caveats. Their sales outsourcing page says they charge a monthly fee plus commission based on results, but no rate appears anywhere public. And their lead generation page presents the same three tiers under different names, LAUNCH, GROWTH and ACCELERATE, with a "Request Pricing" button instead of figures.

What's Included at Each Price Point

Starter covers customised target lists, campaigns, engagement monitoring and outbound calls. Standard adds closing and negotiation. Premium adds account management after the deal is signed.

Field sales programs and multi-team builds are not on the packages page, so those are quoted separately. Their Clutch profile lists a $10,000 minimum project size.

The guarantee needs restating here, because the wording matters. The 45-day promise is a launch guarantee. In their published BBB response, Sales Focus states their contract contains no monthly minimum goals and that KPIs are established rather than guaranteed.

Hidden and Additional Costs to Watch

  • Domains and mailboxes. Not mentioned in any package. Ask whether email infrastructure is billed on top.
  • Data and enrichment credits. Their case studies describe list building, but no data cost is itemised.
  • Setup and onboarding fees. Ask whether the 45-day build is inside the monthly fee or billed separately.
  • LinkedIn accounts and Sales Navigator seats. Their campaigns use LinkedIn, so ask who pays for the seats.
  • Who keeps the domains and lists at exit. Their FAQ says data goes into your CRM, which is good. It says nothing about domains.

That last point is the expensive one. If the agency owns your sending domains, leaving means starting your email deliverability from zero.

Who Should Hire Sales Focus Inc?

  • US companies that need feet on the street. Their energy case study describes a program that scaled to a contracted headcount of 81 across multiple states, which no email-first agency can match.
  • International companies entering the US market. Their LaunchUSA service exists for exactly that, and their delivery is entirely domestic.
  • Buyers who want employees rather than contractors. Their site says every agent is a W-2 employee representing one client only, screened before placement.
  • Enterprise and mid-market buyers. Their Clutch profile reports half their clients are companies above $1B in revenue.

Who Should Not Hire Sales Focus Inc?

  • Companies selling into Europe or the UK. Delivery is US-based by design, and their case studies are almost entirely domestic.
  • Buyers who need a guaranteed number of meetings. Their BBB response is explicit that goals are not guaranteed, and several certified agencies do commit to a number.
  • Teams that want to own the machine afterwards. You are renting managed headcount, and the reps stay Sales Focus employees when the contract ends.
  • Small companies testing outbound. A three-month Starter pilot is an $11,850 commitment before you know whether the motion works.
  • Anyone who needs the sending infrastructure documented. Nothing on their site addresses domains, warm-up or inbox placement.

If you are sending under a few hundred emails a month, you may not need an agency at all. Running Salesforge yourself at $48 per month covers that volume with warmup included.

Sales Focus Inc Case Studies and Reported Results

Sales Focus publishes roughly five pages of case studies. Three of the most detailed:

ClientIndustryReported Result
American Energy CompanyEnergyGrew from an initial team of 10 to a contracted headcount of 81 by 2024, acquiring over 1,900 new customers and generating 10,000 leads
IT Services ProviderInformation Technology33 scheduled appointments and 77 marketing-qualified leads in six months, from an average of 1,124 outreach actions per week
Medical Equipment ManufacturerHealthcareTwo field agents closed 24 deals across a one-year contract, generating more than $800,000 in revenue
Sales Focus Inc case study page for an American energy company showing customer requirements, SFI solutions and results including a contracted headcount of 81 and over 1,900 new customers
Their most detailed published case study. The results block names specific, countable figures.

The specificity is a real strength. These are countable numbers with timeframes attached, not "significant growth."

The rates behind them vary widely, though. Thirty-three appointments over six months is roughly 5.5 a month, their credit and collections case about 7 a month, and their CleanMedia case 17.5.

That arithmetic is mine, not theirs. Ask which end of the range your program is modelled on.

Newer case studies are anonymised into descriptors like "IT Services Provider," while older ones name clients such as MARCOA Media and Hitachi USA. Some reference organisations that no longer exist, including Enron Energy Services and Bell Atlantic, so the library spans their whole history rather than recent work. Every case study page, whatever the industry, also closes by offering to launch your "Manufacturing" sales team.

All of these are company-reported figures. No independent platform has verified any of them, so treat them as claims until a reference call confirms one.

Sales Focus Inc Limitations to Consider Before Signing

  • Outcomes are not guaranteed: Sales Focus stated in its own published BBB response that its contract does not contain monthly minimum goals and that KPIs are established rather than guaranteed. Ask them to restate that in writing, then decide whether a launch guarantee is the assurance you needed.
  • The commission is undefined: two of three published packages are priced at a monthly fee plus commission, with no rate anywhere public. Get the percentage, the trigger event and clawback terms before signing.
  • The client review record is thin and dated: two Clutch reviews from December 2022, none on G2, two on Trustpilot. For a firm founded in 1998 that is very little independent evidence. Ask for three references from programs run in the last eighteen months.
  • Nothing published on infrastructure or data ownership: no statement on sending domains, mailboxes, warm-up or who keeps the lists. Ask for the exit clause in writing.
  • US-only delivery: their site says they are not an offshore company and all services sit within the USA. If your buyers are in Europe, that is a hard constraint.
  • Figures differ between their own pages: their SDR page says more than 1,200 businesses served while their about page says nearly 2,000, and their packages page headline offers a 30-day launch against the 45-day guarantee everywhere else. Ask which is current.

None of these should rule them out on its own. But if two or more matter to you, compare agencies that already answer these questions on their public profiles. That is exactly what the certified agencies below do.

Sales Focus Inc Alternatives: Certified Forge Experts Worth Considering

Do not just search "lead generation agency" and pick the first result. Compare agencies whose practices you can verify before the first call.

The Forge Expert Network is a directory of agencies certified on the Forge ecosystem. Certification requires completing Salesforge's cold email training and meeting program eligibility requirements, so every listed agency has a disclosed, modern outbound stack.

The directory is younger and smaller than Clutch, so treat it as a curated starting point rather than a complete market map. The Martal Group review and memoryBlue review on this blog cover two other outsourced sales firms buyers weigh against Sales Focus.

1. Outbound Pros

Best for: buyers who want the email infrastructure documented and a meeting number committed to in the contract.

Outbound Pros answers the two clearest gaps in the Sales Focus offer. Their profile states a guarantee of 50 to 75 qualified meetings per month with commission-based pricing, where Sales Focus states its contract does not guarantee goals. It also reports owned domain infrastructure with documented SPF, DKIM and DMARC, plus a warm-up aimed at 85 to 95% inbox placement.

Their profile lists cold calling and PPC alongside email and LinkedIn as one motion, with a $1.5K to $10K monthly retainer across US, EU and Canadian markets. Their Outbound Pros case study reports zero downtime across client campaigns and onboarding without extra licenses. Founder Jānis Plūme notes their commission structure means they only win when clients do.

2. SalesCaptain

Best for: buyers who want named clients and multi-market coverage before they commit.

SalesCaptain answers the proof gap. Where Sales Focus anonymises recent case studies, SalesCaptain's profile names the companies that trust it, including Nestle, GlossGenius and Improvado. It also says it has secured calls with Uber, ESPN, BlackRock and Autodesk.

It also answers the geography gap: their profile lists US, Canadian, European and Asian markets across six languages, against Sales Focus's US-only delivery. They report sending 1.2 million emails a month at a 0% spam rate standard, priced via a retainer scoped per client after a discovery call. Their flagship case study runs on a $250k average deal size, so this suits larger contract values.

3. RevSculpt

Best for: buyers who want a system engineered rather than headcount rented.

RevSculpt answers the model gap. Their profile says plainly they are not a staffing agency or SDR outsourcer, which is precisely what Sales Focus is. Instead they build signal-based outreach timed to buying triggers, plus the CRM, routing and reporting layer underneath.

Their profile reports over 6,000 qualified meetings across more than 15 B2B verticals, with most clients seeing a first meeting within 18 days. Two named outcomes: 300+ qualified meetings in six months for an AEO/SEO agency built from zero, and 14x return on outbound spend for a digital asset company. There is no Salesforge case study for RevSculpt, so those figures come from the profile itself.

Prefer Not to Hire an Agency at All?

Two routes if a retainer is not the right shape for you right now.

Run outbound yourself with Salesforge. It starts at $48 per month with unlimited mailboxes and free unlimited Warmforge warmup included, plus a 14-day free trial. That is a fraction of a Starter retainer, though you supply the operator.

Or hire Agent Frank, Salesforge's autonomous AI SDR, from $499 per month billed quarterly. He handles prospecting, sequencing, replies and meeting booking on his own, 24/7. Agent Frank is a separate subscription rather than part of a Salesforge plan, and he needs a demo plus a two-week warm-up before he starts sending.

Questions to Ask Before Hiring Sales Focus Inc

  1. Your BBB response says the contract sets KPIs but does not guarantee goals. What exactly is guaranteed beyond the 45-day launch, and what happens if the KPIs are missed?
  2. What counts as a qualified lead in my contract, and who decides when one is disputed?
  3. What is the commission rate on Standard and Premium, what triggers it, and are there clawbacks?
  4. Who owns the sending domains, mailboxes and prospect lists when the contract ends?
  5. What is my total monthly cost including domains, data, LinkedIn seats and any setup fee?
  6. How many reps have rotated through comparable programs in the last twelve months, and what happens to my campaign if mine leaves?
  7. Do I get written approval rights over the target list and the messaging before anything sends?
  8. Can I speak to two clients in my industry whose programs ran within the last eighteen months?

Their answers will tell you more than any review, including this one.

Final Verdict: Is Sales Focus Inc Worth It?

Sales Focus Inc is worth considering if you need US field or inside sales headcount built and managed for you, on a three to four month pilot.

Two things set them apart. They publish package pricing when most competitors will not. Their field sales record is also deeper than almost anyone in the outbound sales category, with one energy program reaching a contracted headcount of 81.

I would shortlist them for a US energy, utilities or industrial program that needs reps physically calling on small and mid-sized businesses across states.

I would not shortlist them for an email-led program targeting Europe, or for a buyer who needs a committed meeting number. Their own BBB response says goals are not guaranteed. If either describes you, compare a few certified agencies that publish their guarantees and infrastructure first.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Sales Focus Inc a Legitimate Company?

Yes. The South Carolina Secretary of State lists SALES FOCUS, INC., entity 00648477, as a foreign corporation incorporated in Maryland and currently in Good Standing. The register also shows a forfeiture in November 2013 and reinstatement in May 2022, an administrative filing matter rather than a finding against the business. The BBB has accredited them since January 2016 with an A+ rating and records incorporation on 12 December 1998. Their self-reported figures, including $1.2B generated, are not independently verified.

2. How Much Does Sales Focus Inc Cost?

Their packages page publishes three tiers. Starter is $3,950 per month on a three-month pilot, while Standard at $5,950 and Premium at $6,750 add commission on four-month pilots. The retainer is not the full price: the commission rate is never published, and domains, data, LinkedIn seats and setup fees are not itemised. Their Clutch profile lists a $10,000 minimum project size.

3. Does Sales Focus Inc Guarantee Leads?

No. Their guarantee covers speed, not outcomes: they promise to launch your sales team in 45 days or less. In their own published BBB response from August 2023, Sales Focus stated that their contract contains no monthly minimum goals. KPIs are established, but goals are not guaranteed. Get that distinction in writing, along with what happens if agreed KPIs are missed.

4. Who Owns the Lead Data and Campaign Assets?

Their FAQ says they use your CRM and that field intelligence goes directly into it, so you are not transferring data at the end. That is a better answer than most agencies give. What they do not address anywhere public is sending domains and mailboxes. That matters most, because if the agency owns the domains your campaigns sent from, you restart your deliverability from zero when you leave.

5. What Are the Best Sales Focus Inc Alternatives in 2026?

Three certified agencies in the Forge Expert Network answer specific gaps. Outbound Pros states a guarantee of 50 to 75 qualified meetings per month and documents its owned domain infrastructure. SalesCaptain names its clients publicly and covers US, Canadian, European and Asian markets in six languages. RevSculpt builds signal-based revenue systems and says outright it is not a staffing agency. For smaller volumes, running Salesforge in-house from $48 per month is the cheaper starting point.

6. Should You Hire a Lead Generation Agency or Build Outbound In-House?

Hire an agency when you need pipeline fast and do not want to recruit and train SDRs yourself. Build in-house when you want to own the system, the data and the learning long term. The middle path is running Salesforge yourself, or hiring Agent Frank as an AI SDR from $499 per month billed quarterly. Move to an agency once your volume justifies the retainer.
