What Is A Spam Checker?

A Spam Checker is a handy tool to test your email copy for spam words, broken spintax and variables, suspicious links and other elements that typical spam filters look at. This way, you can protect your deliverability and land in the primary inbox.

How Does A Spam Checker Work?

Our Spam Checker takes several factors into account to evaluate your copy’s spam potential:

  • Spam words: Spam words can have three levels of severity: red, orange, and yellow. Try to remove all red and orange spam words from your email. A few yellow spam words are acceptable.
  • Spintax: Variations of text enclosed in double curly braces {{...|...}} that allow you to rotate words and phrases, creating diversity in your emails.
  • Variables: Short snippets of text enclosed in double curly brackets {{...}} that you can add to your cold emails to dynamically insert information about your leads.
  • Links: Spam emails often try to trick you into clicking on suspicious websites. Many of these links are flagged by spam filters, which detect them and send such emails to junk. Instead, write your links as unclickable plain text, e.g., mywebsite.com, and avoid using hyperlinks.
  • Images: Spam filters often flag emails with images, especially if the image-to-text ratio is too high. Emails filled with images and little text look suspicious, similar to what spammers often send.
  • Emojis: Overusing emojis or using them in a way that seems spammy or unprofessional can trigger spam filters. To avoid this, use emojis sparingly and ensure they are relevant to your message.
  • Word count: Keep your emails brief and to the point. If you're using Spintax or Variables, we calculate an approximate email length. The actual length may vary depending on the specific variables used.
